The Simulation Engineer will have exceptional analytical capabilities to create complex simulation models for our hospital clients.  This person will need to demonstrate the focus to drive project initiatives through to completion but also know how to roll up their sleeves to get into details and execute work. Additional knowledge and experience in the area of clinical process improvement or hospital supply chain operations is bonus.

 

St. Onge Company is currently seeking a Simulation Engineer that has experience in developing complex simulation models related to clinical process improvement but could also use their skills to benefit other areas such as hospital supply chain and hospital facility design.  By utilizing a data driven approach to problem solving, we are capable of creating innovative solutions that are on the cutting-edge of hospital design.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop simulation models using discrete event simulation packages such as FlexSim and/or AnyLogic.
  • Execute integration and configuration of supply chain systems and simulation analysis.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams in our healthcare business unit to develop strategies related to clinical process improvement, new hospital design and layout, and materials movement.
  • Develop and deploy a framework of continuous improvement utilizing lean principles by performing value-stream analysis simulations.
  • Develop presentation materials and communicate findings in client meetings.
  • Will be expected to interact with the client and must have strong customer-facing capabilities.
  • Assist in writing final reports and other key deliverables as required.

 

Education & Experience:

  • 2+ years of full-time, post-graduate experience of simulation and modeling experience using professional discrete event simulation packages.  Experience with FlexSim is preferred.
  • Minimum of Bachelors of Science degree in Industrial Engineering, Healthcare Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 

Computer Skills:

  • Discrete event simulation software experience using FlexSim, FlexSim HC, or AnyLogic
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to manipulate data in databases via SQL and spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel.
  • MS Office Proficiency.
  • General programming experience (Python, Visual Basic, C++, Java, etc.) would be beneficial but not required.

 

Other:

  • This position is based in York, PA.
  • Travel is required, typically 5-15% but travel may vary and could be heavy at times
